Learn all about kayak touring, meet new friends and enjoy a 3 day getaway exploring the beautiful rocky islands of Georgian Bay.

This popular trip meets in Killbear Provincial Park. We spend our first morning learning about sea kayaks, basic paddling techniques and safety procedures. Then its time to load up our kayaks and head out into the 30,000 Islands on a 2 night camping trip.

We’ll spend each night on a deserted out-island, enjoying great meals, and the famous sunsets of the Bay.

Our expert guide will teach you the basics of recreational canoeing or kayaking while showing you the sights and sounds of the Saugeen.

No previous canoeing or kayaking experience is required. Just a sense of adventure.

Many of us grew up canoeing – or at least thinking we could. Rediscover the joy of quiet paddling – and let us show you some pretty cool strokes and tricks along the way. Taught as a private lesson to individuals, couples, groups, families, and kids are all welcome. Here are some of the skills we'll practice with you in an intro class:

* canoe design and safety gear
* paddle design – sizing of shaft, blades
* launching & landing
* balance & paddler position
* forward stroke review – entry, recovery, torso pivot
* reverse & stopping strokes
* draws – basic and sculling – pivots using draws
* prys – pivots using prys
* j-stroke and river-j
* timing / co-ordination – working on combinations of strokes
* canoe over canoe rescue

We teach intermediate canoeing as well
