Living close to Barrie, Ontario provides the opportunity to be within minutes of the country and enjoy the surroundings while staying in touch with the amenities of the city.
On this sporadically cloudy and beautiful day we decided to venture to a local provincial park called Springwater.
Upon entering the inviting entrance to the park and the friendly greeting at the main gate, a pleasant forest display nestled between the charm of the wilderness patiently awaited our attention.
To our surprise we were delighted to see tranquil ponds, relaxing picnic areas and tall, wondrous overshadowing trees all around us.
An overwhelming feeling of relaxation seemed to slow time to absorb the surroundings and breathe in the natural beauty.
Walking by the tranquil ponds, cozy picnic areas and wonderful children’s playgrounds created a stimulation of thoughts. What a great place to bring a family or relax for a few hours.
Other things of interest were the wildlife display areas and various walking trails.
Some information of interest regarding the park: Open all year round which enables great cross country skiing opportunities on a specific trial. The forest is comprised of white and red pine, birch, maple and oak. Streams and rivers run throughout the park.
We really enjoyed our visit to
Springwater park and would recommend visiting it if you are in the area.
