Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society
The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) is Canada's most active and involved, national community-based voice for public wilderness protection. Since 1963 CPAWS has taken a lead role in establishing two-thirds of Canada's protected wild spaces, which is an area over seven times the size of Nova Scotia.
CPAWS envisions a healthy ecosphere where people experience and respect natural ecosystems.
Our vision is to keep at least half of Canada's public land and water, wild and preserved forever. We focus on protecting many important areas of Canada's wilderness.
We have various chapters throughout each province in Canada.
