Awenda Provincial Park

Awenda Provincial Park offers the opportunity to explore a combination of wildlife and varieties of terrain.

Natural Features at Awenda Provincial Park

Visitors to Awenda Provincial Park will be impressed by the variety of terrain.  The types of terrain includes boulder fields, cobble beaches, kettle lakes and sand dunes. The most easily seen geological feature on this glaciated terrain is Nipissing Bluff, which extends 60 metres above Georgian Bay.

Across the water is Giant's Tomb, an island where the spirit Kitchikewana rests. Below the bluff, sand, cobble and boulder beaches in sheltered Methodist Point Bay offer the great swimming. Similar to the kettle lake inland, they are signs of a glaciated past
